The new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran today presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty the King of Norway in an official ceremony at the Royal Palace thereby formally commencing his diplomatic mission in Oslo.

In an official ceremony held today at the Royal Palace in Oslo, Dr. Alireza Jahangiri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Norway, presented his Letter of Credence to His Majesty King Harald V.

During the audience, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings and respect of the President and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran to His Majesty and the Norwegian nation. He emphasized Iran’s firm commitment to further developing and strengthening bilateral relations in all fields. The Ambassador highlighted the broad potential for cooperation between the two countries in the areas of energy, maritime economy, technology, environment, fisheries, cultural exchanges, higher education, people-to-people ties, as well as regional and international dialogue. He reiterated Iran’s readiness to expand constructive engagement across these sectors.

His Majesty the King of Norway welcomed the commencement of the Ambassador’s mission, expressed his best wishes for a successful tenure in Norway, and underscored the importance of the long-standing relations between the two countries and the need to continue positive and effective interaction at various levels.

With the presentation of his Letter of Credence, Dr. Alireza Jahangiri has formally begun his duties and will pursue the mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Kingdom of Norway accordingly.
